  1. Drink and Draw Weekly Sketch at Lucky Dog Books on Jan. 25. Just bring a sketchbook and something to draw with. Those over 21 are welcome to bring their own beverages. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Open to all skill levels and free.
  2. Ring by spring? Go to the Dallas Bridal Show Jan. 27-28 at Dallas Market Hall. There will be over 300 wedding businesses and vendors to help you plan your perfect day. Featuring fashion shows, door prizes, giveaways and more. Admission $12.
  3. Head to the Mesquite Convention Center Jan. 26-28 for the Stamp Scrap Art Tour. Shop scrapbooking and paper crafting suppliers for albums, ink pads, cardstock, paint, stickers, cling stamps and wood-mounted rubber stamps. General admission is $6 in advance, $7 cash at the door.
  4. On Sun Jan. 28, the Dallas Opera presents Nadine Sierra at Moody Performance Hall for an exclusive performance during the Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Art Song Recital Series. The soprano’s recital will feature works by Richard Strauss, Franz Schubert, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Robert Schumann, Joaquín Turina and Leonard Bernstein. Tickets $15.
  5. This is your moment: Frankie’s Downtown sports bar’s hidden speakeasy, The Underground, is having Open Mic Nite on Jan. 31. Bring your guitars, keyboards, poetry, stand up comedy and all your performance dreams.
  6. See the National Broadway tour of The Color Purple at Dallas Summer Musicals through Feb. 4 at Fair Park. The 2016 Tony Award Winner features a soul-raising score of jazz, gospel, ragtime and blues. Tickets $25+.
