  1. April 25-29 is the 48th Annual USA Film Festival at the Angelika. Highlights include a salute to Barbara Bain and Elizabeth Ashley, hosted by Stephen Tobolowsky, a film screening of “The Last Wave” and on-stage conversation with Richard Chamberlain. Tickets $10.
  2. Second Thought Theatre presents “Empathitrax” by Ana Nogueira directed by Carson McCain through April 28. This intimate play explores what would happen if a miracle pill could fix a broken relationship. Student tickets $15.
  3. Jazz it up for April 27, 28 and 29 at the annual Denton Arts & Jazz Festival. Great music, good food, beautiful art and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Headliners include Randy Brecker, Los Lobos and Brave Combo. Free.
  4. The Fort Worth Opera presents Piazzolla’s tango opera, Maria di Buenos Aires on April 27 and May 5. The story follows Maria, a young woman living in the slums of Buenos Aires who finds herself seduced by the sounds of tango. Tickets $17-$75.
  5. April 28 is the Japanese Garden Spring Festival at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. Enjoy traditional Japanese dance, music, martial arts, raku pottery, taiko drummers, tea ceremonies and more. Admission $12.
  6. Ill Forks steakhouse is offering you a chance to be a Sommelier for a Day on May 2. Guests will sample six wines with hors d’oeuvres created by the executive chef. The favored wine of the guests wins a place on the Ill Forks menu for June. 21+. Tickets $30.
