Weather continues to plague the University of Dallas men’s soccer schedule. The Crusaders’ road match against Austin College, originally scheduled for Sept. 21, has officially been postponed until Oct. 10.
“With two rainouts [in] the season, it’s hard on the mind because you get so mentally prepared to play,” sophomore goalkeeper Sean Carlin said.
UD’s last match culminated in a 1-0 victory over Centenary College of Louisiana on Sept. 11. After two weeks with no gameplay, UD faces a challenging upcoming schedule.
Men’s soccer will face three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opponents at home, beginning with Schreiner University on Sept. 28 at 5 p.m. Dallas will then take on defending SCAC champion Trinity University on Sept. 30 and finish the homestand against Austin College on Oct. 2.
Men’s soccer Head Coach Dave Hoffmann is frustrated with the uncooperative weather affecting their game and practice schedule.
“The boys are anxious to play and train, but now we are looking at 11 matches in 24 days,” Hoffmann said. “We will have to be as smart as possible about our practice management going forward.”
