The Catholic Mother’s Ministry is hosting a festive gala at Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., to celebrate the 50th anniversary of “Humanae Vitae,” Pope Paul VI’s encyclical on marriage and the family. Bring a plus one, enjoy food and drinks, and dance the night away. Online registration is required. With the code ‘ball90’, University of Dallas students receive a discounted ticket price of $12.50, or $10 when buying two tickets.

The growing rap sensation Post Malone is returning to his hometown, Dallas, this Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. This multi-platinum singer is performing outdoors in Dos Equis Pavilion, located at 3839 S Fitzhugh Ave. Tickets start at $91.

Satisfy all your cravings for Asian cuisine at this Night Market in Plano on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 5 to 10 p.m. There will be more than twenty local vendors cooking and serving over 100 different types of Asian dishes and snacks, including Chinese crepes, takoyaki, Uyghur lamb kebab, skewers, fruit teas, Thai dessert and more. A sampling of the best Dallas and Austin artists are gathering for a live painting competition. Paint will be flying at this event that fosters both creativity and community; the winner is chosen by the audience. The artists are battling for a spot in the National Championship later this year in Los Angeles. Entry is $20.

The Dallas Zoo is turning spooky for the Halloweekend, Oct. 27 and 28, with a pumpkin patch complete with scarecrows, a hay maze and other family-friendly entertainment and activities. Halloween costumes are encouraged, and there will be a beer garden for ages 21+. Regular admission is $15.
