- Autumn at the Arboretum
The Dallas Arboretum will be decked out in full glory until Nov. 21. Described as “One of The World’s 15 Most Breathtaking Gardens” by Architectural Digest, the Arboretum is hosting a huge fall festival, featuring thousands of pumpkins and gourds. This year’s theme is Finding Neverland, so the set up follows the beloved storyline of “Peter Pan.” It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. Admission is $15.
Bizet’s operatic masterpiece, “Carmen,” is being performed nightly until Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Winspear Opera House. A tragic love story centering around the beautiful and infamous gypsy Carmen, the opera is performed in French, with English subtitles. Tickets start at $19.
- Knicks vs. Mavericks
Calling all basketball fans: The New York Knicks are in town to challenge the Mavericks. The game is at the American Airlines Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2. Ticket prices start at $9.
- An Evening with the Best of Broadway
The best of Broadway musicals are being showcased at the Dallas Summer Musicals Gala 2018 Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8:30 p.m. This black-tie event is being hosted by Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison and Shoshana Bean, all award-winning screen or stage stars, at Music Hall at Fair Park. All funds go to local Dallas musical theatre groups. Tickets are $45.
- Take me to the Races!
Horse racing season picks up every Friday and Saturday evening until Nov. 10. Gates open at 5 p.m., first race starts at 6:05 p.m., and races go until 11 p.m. Lone Star Park is located at 1000 Lone Star Pkwy, Grand Prairie. Admission starts at $5.
- Friday Nights Discover Scuba
Spend this Friday night underwater with ScubaToys. Bring a swimsuit and learn how to scuba dive on Scuba Night, Friday, Nov. 2 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Located at 1609 S Interstate 35E. Rental cost for the diving gear is $35.
