- DMA Late Nights
The Dallas Museum of Art has its doors open until midnight this Friday night, Nov.16 — an event that occurs on the third Friday of every month. This week will feature a special exhibition of Ida O’Keefe’s works, live jazz music from 6 to 7 p.m. and 8 to 9 p.m., talks, and short dance performances. Bring your student ID for discounted $5 admission.
- Texas Taco Festival
Dallas’s favorite annual event has arrived — the Texas Taco Festival. This huge event offers live bands and traditional Mariachi music, 30+ restaurants, vendors, and food trucks, plus taco-themed activities and contests. Located at 1650 E Randol Road, Arlington. Buy tickets ahead of time online for $10. The ticket includes admission and your first drink free (21+ only).
- GM Financial Fort Worth Parade of Lights
Head to Fort Worth for a fantastic display of Christmas lights and floats on Sunday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. This huge parade has drawn tens of thousands of viewers annually for 36 years. No tickets necessary.
- Nutcracker
The Moscow Ballet Great Nutcracker begins their seasonal performances of the famous ballet at the SMU McFarlin Memorial Auditorium. Performances are on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 3 and 7 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. Tickets start at $55, but discounts may be available if purchased online and for groups of 10+.
- Dallas Stars vs. Boston Bruins
Hockey it up this weekend. There is a game Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the American Airlines Center. Ticket prices start at $23.
- Las Colinas Farmers Market
Come and browse locally grown produce and handmade goods this Saturday, Nov. 17. Honey, fresh artisan bread, jellies, tamales and tacos, and more will be offered! The market is located at 7701 N MacArthur Blvd in Las Colinas. This is a weekly event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
