  1.  Penguin Days at the Dallas Zoo

From now until Feb. 28, visitors get $8 admission to the Dallas Zoo. The Zoo is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is located at 650 South R. L. Thornton Freeway.

 

  1.  Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo

One of Fort Worth’s popular annual events, the Stock Show, is running daily until Saturday, Feb. 9 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Head to the Stock Show for the rodeo, livestock exhibitions, carnival fun, vendors and more. General admission is $10 for access to everything except the rodeo. Rodeo tickets are $22-30 and include admission to the grounds.

 

  1. Dallas Mavericks vs. Charlotte Hornets

Catch some basketball this Wednesday, Feb. 6 with the Mavericks versus the Hornets at the American Airlines Center. Tickets start at $13. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.

 

  1.  Deep Ellum Outdoor Market

Valentine’s themed for the month of February, this free event will showcase local art, live music, food and shopping. Grab a bite to eat and browse the local markets from 12 to 6 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 9. Located at 100 N Crowdus Street in Dallas.

 

  1.  Sunset Sundays

Head to the Brickhouse Lounge in Arlington this Sunday evening for a night of live jazz and soul music. The Brickhouse Lounge, located at 2525 E Arkansas Ln #253, hosts Sunset Sundays every week.

 

  1.  Las Colinas Farmers Market

Come and browse locally grown produce and handmade goods this Saturday, Feb. 9. Honey, fresh artisan bread, jellies, tamales and tacos and more are also offered. The market is located at 7701 N MacArthur Blvd in Las Colinas. This is a weekly event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
