Refine your palate and recall fond memories of Rome this weekend at Grapefest in Historic Downtown Grapevine. There will be wine taste testing, live music, a petting zoo and even a “squishy GrapeStomp.” All day Thursday is free, as is Friday before 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday’s festival admission is $8, with an additional $25 cost for wine tasting. Who knows, maybe the highly acclaimed 2017 Due Santi Rosso will bring home the gold in the taste testing.
2. Claude Monet Art Exhibition
Splendid Monet paintings await your visit to the Kimbell Art Museum. The collection has over 50 Monet paintings, but hurry, the exhibit closes at midnight on Sept. 14. Refreshments and live music will add to the ambiance. Tickets are $16 for students, so be sure to bring your ID. Tickets are half-priced all day on Tuesday, and after 5 on Friday.
3. Strauss and Beethoven
The Dallas Symphony Orchestra begins its 2019-2020 schedule with Beethoven’s “Emperor” and Strauss’ “Alpine Symphony.” The premier begins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 and continues through Sunday night at the Meyerson Symphony Center. Tickets start at $25.
4. Dallas Stars vs. St. Louis Blues
Seek revenge against the St. Louis Blues in the stands on Monday, Sept. 16 in this preseason debut. Tickets start at $8.
5. Dallas Rangers vs. Oakland Athletics
Cheer on the Rangers, or Athletics, this weekend at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas. Tickets start at $7.
6. Murder Mystery Dinner
Become the Texan Sherlock Holmes at Edison’s in downtown Dallas this Friday by exploring clues, questioning guests, and as an added bonus, enjoying a three-course meal. This immersive murder mystery dinner will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 10 p.m. Tickets are $42.99.
