
As the 2019 fall sports season comes to a close, we’re looking back on some of the highlights.
- Men’s soccer’s 89th-minute victory over Johnson and Wales
In an exhilarating game versus Johnson and Wales on Oct. 18, the Dallas men’s soccer team pulled out a victory in the very last minute of the game. Junior Brady McNamara was assisted by Junior Tomas DePetris to secure the 3-2 victory.
- When Volleyball captured a set from Washington University
On Oct. 11, Dallas faced Washington University, currently ranked 25th for NCAA and held a record of 14-6 at the time. In a thrilling performance, UD edged WashU for one set, although they were ultimately defeated.
- Five school records set and first SCAC individual title for cross country
The 2019 season saw Sophomore Anna Wilgenbusch break five school records (2mi, 3.1mi, 5k, 6k, and most individual wins). Her SCAC individual victory, the first in UD history, led the Crusader ladies to a third place finish in conference, while rival Texas Lutheran University placed fourth.
- Women’s soccer five-game winning streak
The beginning of October witnessed a five-game winning streak, the longest for women’s soccer since 2012. The team was tied with Trinity University in SCAC standings to make for its best conference-opener since 2019.
- Women’s golf comes back with some young talent
After a hiatus from competition since 2015, the UD women’s golf team once again graces the fields with a roster boasting four freshmen, one sophomore, and a lot of team spirit as they look forward to building the team up in the coming years.
