Madame Butterfly – Come see some of the most famous operatic music of all time! “Madame Butterfly” is the story of a geisha who gives up everything to marry an American naval officer, who abandons her and their son, ending in devastation . It will be sung in Italian but will include English supertitles. The opera will be held at Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House on Feb. 26 at 7:30. Admission is $15 for students.
Musical Montage – The Plano Community Band and the Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra will join together to blend strings and winds. The Plano Community Band’s performance will be followed by DAAYO and a full Philharmonic orchestra blending both groups. Admission is free, and this concert will be on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m.
Sweet Tooth Hotel Exhibit – Sweet Tooth Hotel will present their newest exhibit, “Rewind.” This show’s title is a play on the explorable installations. At the center of the exhibit will sit a full-blown vintage video store full of VHS tapes and a few hidden spaces for guests to discover. In addition, they’ll be rebooting some cult favorite installations from their previous exhibits. Admission starts at $20. Come see this exhibit up until May 31!
Mardi Gras Party – Grandscape will present “Mardi Gras Pardi,” featuring the N’Awlins Gumbo Kings, cajun food, crawfish boil, mask decorating contest, crawfish eating contest, airbrush tattoo artist, fortune teller and lots of Instagram photo opportunities. Admission starts at $25. The party will start at 2 p.m. on Feb. 27.
Sculpting Sound – The Nasher Sculpture Center presents “Sculpting Sound: Twelve Musicians Encounter Bertoia.” Six historic concerts bring together 12 master musicians to explore Harry Bertoia’s sounding sculptures, in complement to the exhibition “Harry Bertoia: Sculpting Mid-Century Modern Life.” Concerts will be held between Feb. 23-27. Admission is $30 per concert.
Mardi Gras Celebration – Legacy Hall will be celebrating Mardi Gras with festivities complete with delicious Creole fare, live jazz music and Hurricane cocktails. This event will be held on Feb. 26 at 3pm and March 1 at 7 p.m. General Admission is free!
