  1. State Fair of Texas – It’s that time of year again! The 24 day, four weekend fair is back. From the butter sculptures to the nightly fireworks to the oodles of fried food, there is always something classic and fun about a day or night at the fair. There’s never a shortage of things to do, so what are you waiting for? The fair is running from Sept. 30-Oct. 23. Admission starts at $15. 
  2. Tacos and Margaritas Tour – Join Dallas Bites & Sights Tours for a taco and margarita sampling adventure. The tour has four stops, where guests can enjoy award-winning street tacos. Admission starts at $79, and includes air conditioned motorcoach transportation, four tacos and two margaritas at selected venues, and beverages on the motorcoach. This weekend event starts on Oct. 1. 
  3. Don Quixote – The Dallas Symphony Orchestra will bring to you a grand musical journey with Strauss’ “Don Quixote.” There will be two performances, Sept. 29 and Oct. 2. Tickets start at $19.
  4. Art Festival – Cottonwood Art Festival has been a part of Richardson life for over 50 years, featuring prestigious art. The artists compete in 14 categories: 2D Mixed Media, 3D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Digital, Drawings/Pastels, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metalwork, Painting, Photography, Sculpture and Wood. The festival also features local bands who perform the best in rock, country, jazz, blues, swing and folk. This will take place Oct. 1-2. Admission is free! 
  5. Weird Al Live –  Weird Al Yankovic comes to Dallas as part of the “Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent Ill-Advised Vanity” Tour. He’ll be joined by Emo Philips. Tickets start at $40.
  6. Bubble Show –  The Gazillion Bubble Show will bring out your inner child. Through this unique art form, audiences will find themselves mind-blown. Bubbles and spectacular laser lighting effects come together to create fleeting soapy masterpieces. Tickets start at $36. Shows will be held Oct. 1-2.
