  1. Dallas Día de Los Muertos Parade and Festival. This event honors the traditional Día de Los Muertos holiday and offers live music, a beautiful parade, yummy concessions and fun arts and crafts. The festival runs from 2-10 p.m. at Dallas City Hall and the parade begins at 7 p.m. The parade is open to all and admission is free.
  2. Yoga on the Lawn. BYOM (bring your own mat) and head over to The Sound in Cypress Waters for free outdoor yoga onTuesdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. Certified yoga instructor Chris Mayhan leads an uplifting yoga class offered at Rogers-O’Briend Amphitheater at The Sound in Cypress Waters, Dallas.
  3. Cedar Ridge Nature Reserve. If you’re seeking elevation and exploration, Cedar Nature Reserve has both for free. The preserve has nine miles of unpaved hiking trails and native foliage and wildlife, in a wide variety of trails for outdoorsmen at any level. If you hike the Escarpment Trail, you can reach the highest point in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The preserve is closed on Mondays. Admission is free, but the preserve appreciates a donation of $3 via the donation box on the main trail.
  4. Free Music at Adair’s Saloon. With cheap drinks and legendary burgers, this Deep Ellum bar has a weekly roundup of free live music. Artists as famous as the Dixie Chicks and Miranda Lambert have performed at this bar, which also has a happy hour from open to close on Thursdays through Sundays. Free music is played every night of the week, and there is free pool and a free jukebox on Mondays.
  5. Reggae Day Party. For free live music and DJ’s, playing reggae, dancehall, hip hop, Latin music and more, check out Heroes Lounge near Love Field Airport. Music begins at 4 p.m. and live bands go on at 7 p.m. No cover charge until 9 p.m., full menu and full bar offered. Located at Heroes Lounge, 3094 N. Stemmons Freeway in Dallas. 
  6. Lakeside Live Music Presents the Wild Boys.  On Oct. 29 at 8 p.m., all 80’s pop and new wave synth fans are welcome to come see this Duran Duran tribute band perform. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and your family and friends. Admission is free and parking will be available at the Sound, look for parking garages on Bleeker Street. Event will be held at Rogers-O’Briend Amphitheater at The Sound in Cypress Waters, Dallas.
