Dear readers and the Arts and Culture oodles,

Thank you for dropping into the Cor Chronicle and the Arts and Culture section every week. It has been quite the school year and I know I am not the only one more than a little eager to see it end.

Working as the Arts and Culture editor during my senior year has definitely been a wonderful experience. I discovered that UD has more wonderful poets than my Elegiac Poetry class (apologies to Sappho) and so much media I might become a trivia master.

It has also allowed me to highlight different cultures and communities of students on campus and that has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It has really been a joy to read about our students’ experiences from the perspective of their own unique and colorful backgrounds, and to be able to share that with the University is the cherry on the top of the cake.

This year has been a strange one for our University, from campus renovations to protestants on campus to the passing of the Pope, but also one for me as well. At the beginning of this year, I began my journey to graduate early, and at around the same time the editor’s job at the Cor Chronicle was offered to me. Both decisions permanently changed me and the course of my life.

Working as an editor gave me, a notorious introvert to those who know me, an opportunity to really connect with the UD Community and student body during my senior year, and I will be forever grateful for that opportunity.

Interacting with all of the wonderful writers I’ve had this semester was definitely one of my favorite parts about working for the Cor Chronicle. It really gives you the opportunity to see your fellow classmates in a new light and learn small details about who they are at their core.

Although my time at UD was short and my time as editor even shorter, coming to the University and working for the paper changed me and my outlook on life, and I am happy and proud to have been a part of both for any amount of time.

Godspeed and farewell,

Myshelle Stephens.
