Letter from the Editor

This past semester, I had the pleasure of being an editor for The Cor Chronicle. Although me and my writers got a lot of great articles and topics done and covered this semester, our work is not over. Therefore, I will be returning as the Community Editor next year!

When I got to UD, I knew I wanted to go out for the newspaper. After all, week after week, The Cor Chronicle publishes numerous wonderfully intriguing articles, and the writers have the privilege of interviewing faculty. Being a part of the newspaper gives you an outlet to make your voice heard. But it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when you first start. You don’t know the terminology or even how to approach writing an article.

However, it is less difficult than you think. You get the hang of it after a while and see that everybody else is willing to help, whether by suggesting new article ideas or just teaching you how the newspaper works. By getting involved in The Cor Chronicle, you meet more fellow students, become immersed in the on-goings on campus and improve your writing skills!

I want to urge my fellow students not to be afraid or anxious to try new things, even and especially if you do not think you will be any good at them! We’ve heard this time and time again from our family members, but I’m here to tell you it’s worth it. This applies to every aspect of life, not just our small university newspaper.

Overall, I am very grateful for my time this semester with the Cor Chronicle team. I am very sad to see my senior editors leave and thrilled to work with the new team for the fall semester! We will work together to continue to uphold our well-earned reputation as The Cor Chronicle: The Students of UD’s Voice!
