On Saturday, Oct. 7, a golf cart, later confirmed to be property of the University of Dallas, was spotted half-submerged in the Madonna Pond. The earliest verified time of sighting was 5:06 p.m. that day.

On Monday, Oct. 9, Russell Greene, chief of UDPD, said, “Around midnight Saturday night someone stole a university golf cart and drove it into the Madonna Pond. We are establishing a value on the golf [cart] to determine what level of felony theft is appropriate. We are also reviewing the video capturing the theft.”

Due to the conflict between Greene’s statement and the Oct. 7 sighting, the theft likely occurred the night of Friday, Oct. 6. The golf cart was deemed a total loss.

On Friday, Oct. 13, Greene said, “We have new video coming in today on the golf cart. My understanding is it will help us identify the suspect.”

As of Monday, Oct. 16, no suspects have been able to be identified.
